It seems that there is a new trend these days toward using charts and graphs to prove how awesome certain things are. I was recently thinking about how awesome birding is when it hit me, “bacon is pretty awesome too” (Admit it, when you’re not obsessing about how awesome birding is you sit around and think about bacon. BLT’s, bacon bits, loaded baked potatoes, bacon wrapped hotdogs, bacon pie… Ok, I made that last one up but you know you want a piece).

It occurred to me that the only way to settle this internal debate over the awesomeness of bacon versus birding would be to get my scientist on and make a chart. Bar charts look official and it is hard to argue with facts that are laid out in an official looking bar chart.

What’s the final result? Well, as you can see bacon is the most awesome thing ever in the world except that birding is even more awesomer than that. The proof is in the chart, don’t even try to argue with me ‘cause this chart is official. No more excuses, dust off your field guides, polish up your lenses and get out there!
